THE KEYS TO UNLOCKING THE MYSTERY PART 3

After methodology we move on to attitude, the right attitude towards GOD needed to be able to understand the Words of the ALMIGHTY CREATOR GOD.

In the Sermon of the Mount, JESUS CHRIST elaborated on some of the attributes needed to inherit the Kingdom of GOD. Among those things that HE covered were: meekness, being merciful, being humble and being peace loving. And in clear very literal language HE also highlighted the requirement to keep the commandments of GOD over and above the written words to perform the very intent or spirit of those commandments.

Listed below are the attitudes discussed in the Matthew chapter 5 'Sermon of the Mount'.

Verse 3 — poor in spirit refers to the spirit or humble attitudes of those who are poor. Here we have two concepts: one is poverty and the other is spirit or attitude - not spirit as the Holy Spirit or the Spirit in man.

This is a time and situation sensitive statement. That means the validity of the statement depends on two factors - time and situation (or circumstance).

Why are those who are poor, blessed in the spirit? First being poor means you are in a deprived stated or a state of deprivation. Those who are poor tend to be less arrogant, proud and haughty. They are less affected by what I called the "rocket scientist" syndrome and are more opened to be taught. So it can be said that poor people tends to be less brazenly arrogant - generally.

Today, however this is not as generally true as before because of the social order of our world that tends to make everyone into a "rocket scientist" wannabe. But nonetheless those who are rich whether these be monetary wealth or knowledge wealth or be in position of power and authority or having an elevated social position tend, to feel superior over those who are lesser endowed. All these are more affected by this universal weakness of the "rocket scientist" syndrome.

The rich man is wise in his own eyes, But the poor who has understanding searches him out.
Proverbs 28:11

Verse 4 — refers to those who are grieved by the pervasive wickedness around them. Now how many are those today who have been so caught up with the abundance of material and sensual recourse of the current world order and through the pursuit of these that they are totally oblivious to the fact that increasingly the social norm of Sodom and Gomorrah is the social value of the nations of the earth. How many have not been lost in partaking in the revelries of the pursuit of life's expediency in deceitful dealings and exploitation of those they can gain an advantage over. Beware the deceitfulness of the human heart (psyche).

And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”Luke 12:15

Verse 5 — speaks of those with a meek attitude. This contrast against those who are proud, arrogant and haughty. Yes the opposite of the "rocket scientist" syndrome. Those who are opened to to be taught, the very reason the Bereans in the book of Acts (Acts 17:10 - 12) were honored as being fair minded or noble.

Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger.
Zephaniah 2:3

Verse 6 — hunger and thirst for righteous refers to those who ernestly and zealously seek for the righteous of GOD and not those who exalt themselves as the Jewish religious authorities of JESUS CHRIST days did believing themselves (Matthew 15:1 - 9; 23:13 - 15, 23 - 29; Mark 7:1 - 7; Luke 11:38 - 44) the epitome of righteousness and the defining religious standard, exactly as the leaderships among GOD's Elect are doing today (Revelation 3:17 - 18) blinding themselves to their wretchedness, hypocrisy and total lack of any true righteousness.

Verse 7 — merciful refers to being forgiving and compassionate not bearing grudges, not vindictive, not contentious. Contentiousness and vindictiveness are character traits of those who are self righteous hypocrites being proud and arrogant and judgmental (Matthew 12:7) and fully self focused. Meekness and humility are the character traits of those who are forgiving thus merciful, who can empathise with others. They can and do put themselves into others' shoe and know how others are feeling or what others are going through.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
Matthew 23:23

Verse 8 — pure in heart refers to those whose mind and heart are not preoccupied with covetousness, contentiousness, pride and all the things that defile (2 Peter 2:4 - 21). A mind and heart oriented towards keeping GOD's commandments and obeying GOD (Deuteronomy 6:5; Psalm 119:172) and not polluted by the lust and wickedness of this age.

And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
Mark 7:20 - 23

Verse 9 — peacemakers refer to those who seek for peace as opposed to those who are contentious and quarrelsome. Most commonly contentious and quarrelsome people are self centered and usually greedy. Their want are such they need too much.

Verses 10 to 12 — those who are persecuted for righteousness sake refers to those who rather be harmed or even be killed obeying GOD and doing GOD's will then to compromise by worshiping the Beast and keeping Easter, Christmas and the doctrines of the Great Harlot Church.

Verses 13 to 16 — highlight the need to be an example to this present wicked generation just as JESUS CHRIST was an example to HIS generation of GOD's way of life, living a life ordered according to the commandments of GOD, seeking and doing GOD's will.

Verses 17 to 20 — here JESUS CHRIST highlighted the fact the HE did not come to abolish or do away with or invalidate the Law and/or the Old Covenant Scriptures. HE clearly, literally and plainly stated that HE came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets. HE came to perform, magnify and to put into effect by HIS very life and conduct keeping, performing and obeying all the Laws and Commandments of GOD. HE further stressed that even the least of these commandments must be obeyed (verse 19).

Verse 21 onwards — JESUS went on to elaborate on the need to fully obey the very spirit and intent (verse 22, 28, 32, 39, 44) of these commandments going over and beyond the written word of the law to obey GOD keeping all HIS commandments (verse 48).

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

Matthew Chapter 5 to Chapter 7 highlight the attitude and life focus and orientation needed to inherit the Kingdom of GOD.
